The Rides of Passage Art Exhibit was conceived as part of the 2004 Woodstock Tattoo and Body Arts Festival, in Woodstock, NY. Founders Bruce Bart and Curse Mackey had a vision: to raise the bar of recognition for tattooing as a fine art and shine a light of recognition on some very cool artists.

Burton Snowboards supplied 117 boards and distributed them to the world's top tattoo artists to decorate. Against all odds, the artists met the challenge, and even met the deadline. The results of this snowboard artfest by tattoo artists were absolutely incredible. The art on snowboards was displayed at the Woodstock Tattoo and Art Festival in September, 2004.

Then the show hit the road, with stops in New York City, L.A., Saalfelden, and Dornbirn, Austria, Burlington, VT, and Tokyo.

 Throngs turned out to see the decorated snowboards. These boards are unlike anything they or you have ever seen.
